Updated 12/2/2011 with WINTER Quarter Goals

Tree of Knowledge

Dear Parents,

We are excited to remind you of a strong part of our education program for our younger kids called “The Tree of Knowledge”.  You have probably already noticed this large tree in the hallway of the younger kid’s classrooms.

The goal of the program is to provide organized and continual review of basic Bible facts and memory verses for all our kids from 2 years old through 4th grade.  As a child masters the specified goal for that quarter, his or her name will be put on an apple on the “Tree of Knowledge” for everyone to see.

Because this review will generally take place the first few minutes of Bible class, we encourage you to make sure your child arrives to class on time.  Our Bible classes begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings and at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights.

Since this program is based on a two-year rotation, we have cleared the tree of its apples and will begin anew this week with the starting of our spring Bible class quarter.  Each child will have the opportunity to not only get an apple for this quarter's class goal but for his or her knowledge of any previous goal information.

The goals for each quarter will be posted on our church website so you can stay informed.  We hope that you will take this opportunity to be involved by helping your child at home to learn the current goal for his or her class and to review all the past ones as well.

We hope that our "Tree of Knowledge" will soon be full of names!  If you have any questions, please contact Danny Spears, Betty Hinson, or Annette Peery.  Thank you for your time, encouragement, and involvement in your child’s growth in his or her Bible knowledge!!

In Him,

The Lomax Elders
